2. Booking & Payment
All lessons must be booked online via the provided scheduling link.
Payment is required at the time of booking, using the secure payment system (Stripe).
Lessons can be purchased as single sessions or in a block.
All purchased lessons (individual or block bookings) must be used within 4 months of purchase. No extensions unless agreed in exceptional circumstances.
Prices are subject to annual review.
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling
By You (the client):
Once booked, lessons are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled. You can, however, reschedule your lesson up to 24 hours before the scheduled time at no charge.
Reschedules with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged in full and cannot be rescheduled.
No refunds are given for missed sessions.
By Me (the teacher):
If I need to cancel a lesson, I will offer to reschedule at a mutually convenient time.
If rescheduling isn’t possible, I will offer a full refund. Refunds are processed through Stripe, and so take up to 10 working days to arrive back in your bank account.
4. Illness & Emergencies
If you’re unwell and potentially contagious, please reschedule, or ask to switch to an online lesson if you’re able to sing and focus.
No refunds or reschedules within 24 hours for colds, coughs, or mild illness - if in doubt, and you think you might be coming down with something, reschedule.
In cases of genuine emergency, please get in touch - I may offer a reschedule within the 24 hours notice period at my discretion.
If your voice is fatigued from misuse or overuse, it is important to attend your lesson, as we will do exercises to alleviate the issue and make a plan for recovery and maintaining your vocal health.
If weather makes travel unsafe, we’ll move your session online - no cancellations.
5. Lessons
Timings
Lessons are 60 minutes long.
The last 5 minutes will be spent reviewing progress and setting practice goals.
If you're late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time.
In-Person Lessons
Please arrive no more than 5 minutes early.
Park responsibly in nearby streets.
Online Lessons
It is assumed you have the appropriate technology to carry out your voice lessons online before booking - you are responsible for your ability to connect. The online guide explains what technoligy is needed and which settings are optimal.
Log in 5 minutes before your lesson to check everything is working.
If you have connection issues, contact me by text on +44 (0) 7977 440368 as soon as possible.
6. Vocal Health & Responsibility
Teaching healthy voice use is my priority. However, singing can be a physically demanding activity, and carries risks that I cannot entirely eliminate, so in booking a lesson or participating in a workshop you are accepting that your vocal and physical health is your responsibility and that all exercises and tasks are performed at your own risk.
Please let me know about any vocal health issues or medical conditions (past or present), including ENT or SLT involvement, back/neck/postural concerns, or breathing issues.
I will recommend referral to a voice clinic if I believe medical investigation or support is needed.
You must let me know immediately if you feel pain or discomfort during a lesson.
Singing while recovering from illness may increase the risk of vocal injury – do so with care.
7. Conduct & Expectations
My commitment to you:
Be on time and fully present for your session.
Stay up to date with best practices in voice science and pedagogy.
Support your goals with a safe, respectful and inclusive learning space.
Treat all people with respect, regardless of background, identity or ability.
Your commitment:
Attend sessions ready to engage and learn.
Practice between lessons as mindfully and consistently as possible.
Ask questions if you don’t understand something.
Treat all people with respect, regardless of background, identity or ability.
Raise concerns promptly – I will aim to resolve them constructively.
8. Exceptional Circumstances
I reserve the right to refuse or stop a lesson if a client is ill or under the influence, or exhibiting inappropriate, violent, or abusive behaviour. In such cases, lessons may be rescheduled at my discretion or terminated without refund.
9. Communication
Best ways to contact me: Email or text +44 (0) 7977 440368.
My usual office hours: Tues–Thurs, 10:00–17:00.
Please arrange any out-of-lesson discussions via email or wait until your next session.
10. Media Consent
Occasionally, I share student photos or first names on my website or social media for promotion, congratulations or education.
I’ll always check with you first, but if you’d prefer to opt out, please email me at laura@lauraboon.co.uk with the subject “MEDIA”.
